Q: How can I get my ‘01 Audi TT windshield washers to work again?
I have found out that the washers on my Audi TT for the headlights work but not for the windshield. Is there a certain sequence I have to perform in order to switch between the two washers or am I just lacking washer fluid?

A: you are quite possibly lacking washer fluid, only recently replaced mine, pop the bonnet and it should be on the left side, then again a warning light should have come on at some point to indicate that the fluid levels were low.

A: there is no magic number or near magic number were cars suddenly break . components are in a constant state of degradation and its up to the owner to be on top of it.with proper care the car can last several hundred thousand miles or more

Q: What are the 4 screws around the top of the audi tt for?
Theres 4 little covers that if you move to the side reveal screws that you remove from the top of the audi tt. What are they for? Looks like theyre for removing the hard top but is that possible?

A: They’re mounting holes for attaching a roof rack to carry skis, bicycles, etc.

I’m looking to purchase a cpo audi tt 3.2 but all of the ones near me are manual. I could pay about six grand more and buy a tt 3.2 with an auto but dont know if it could be cheaper to change the transmission on it once purchased?

A: Don’t bother. If you want automatic, buy an automatic. Save the manual transmission cars for people who want them.

A: Depends on which trans it is. For the cheapest of the automatics (code 01M), you can figure on about $7k for parts and labor.

A: if you worried about the cost of tyres and servicing for the squashed up beetle (audi tt), that means you cant afford it,,

A: Looks like most of your question has already been answered. I own a TT convertible. I am 5′ 6″ and have no problems, but it does take some getting used to getting in and out because it is low. The doors are wide and I find I often have scuff marks on the inside caused by trying to swing my legs out without have space to fully open the door. My husband is 5′ 11″ and he does not like driving in it unless the top is down. He feels very claustrophobic. It is pretty small inside with the top up.

I want to buy an Audi TT coupe (older body style) whats the hottest model I can find american or euro spec is there like an rs4ish version or is the 3.2 quattro the best Im going to find.

A: I drove both the 3.2 quattro DSG and the TT Sport and I believe the latter was a quicker car. It was considerably lighter and and a better BHP/Ton ratio. Acceleration was quicker.

someone told me they put aftermarket rims on their audi and they had problems with alignment until they installed some kind of center piece to the inside of the rim. Does anyone know about this? What is the bolt patter for a 2001 tt coupe quattro?

A: you might need a spacer depending on the dish of the wheel. I believe it is a six bolt pattern or I guess if you found some you really wanted the didnt come in the right pattern you would need a converter but that would be stupid just get some that fit the bolt pattern

Q: what is the plus and minus signs on the Audi TT’s shifter for?
Well yeah there is a plus and minus sign on the shifter of my Audi TT. What the hell is it for.
Please more information on how to use it. More Details please. I know the shifter moves to the right towards the plus so it shifts up, but then after you have shifted once how do you shift again?

A: This means your TT is tiptronic so you can keep it on D: drive and use it like it’s Automatic
or shift to the right and use the plus or minus to use it like it’s Manual

when you shift to the right: you move the shifter once up to the + sign to move one gear up (from 2 to 3, less RPM) and twice for two gears up (from 2 to 4) … etc
and the same for the minus sign > more RPM, down gears.
on the screen, in front of the driver (behind the steering wheel) you could read, it’s indicated, on which gear you are, and thus you change according to the slope or the speed you want ..

you can always drive it as automatic on the D: drive, but it’s better to try to change gears, and more amusing/ driving wise.
