Q: why can’t I buy an Audi S6 Avant in the US?
The S6 sedan is being sold in the US, but not the Avant?
A: Because Americans don’t buy station wagons. Volvo was reluctant all these years by always offering the body style, but most car makes came and went with wagon styles. The contemporary wagon is sometimes called a sport wagon or crossover even. Audi sells much more sedan variants of their S models or any model for that matter so bringing them over and reworking the exhaust, shipping costs, and options list isn’t worth the money.
In Germany however, the avants easily outsell the limousine (sedan) version. If you are really bent on buying the wagon version (which I think are awesome looking myself), you can take a trip out to Ingolstadt and buy it over there. You would have to pay for shipping and emissions taxes but you would have something totally unique and exactly what you want. 
I personally love the S6 Avant in the light blue color. Perfection!
Q: I am thinking of buying a V10 Audi S6 or a V8 Bi Turbo RS6 – Which one should I buy?
A: It’s difficult to choose one. Your best bet would be to dribve them both and then decide which one you prefer best. You would probably be best with the V8 because
1. As already said it sounds better
2. Because it is older depreciation shouldn’t be as bad
and
3. It is more likely to be a bit more economical, however i doubt that is your highest concern.

A: depends is it a simple plug in the front which if thats the case you can go to radio shack and just get that simple cord very cheap. If its a matter of a connection in the back of the actual stereo unit id say pay the dealership unless you are handy and going to be able to pull the unit out yourself and figure it out how to do it.

I love the look and interior, but looking at the numbers and the weight of the car, it seems “sluggish”

A: I purchased a 2001 A6 Avant Quattro 2.8l with 86k going on about two years now, All I have had two do to it was brakes and the timing belt and water pump (All for $1050). It is such an amazing car to drive and spent time in on the long hauls. I hit a deer with it at 75 on the passenger side front, it took out the head light, and the driving light below it, but the amazing part was the I barely felt it, the car barely moved and it was a light thud and I was able to keep driving it to a lighted exit off the desolent hwy I was traveling on at night. nothing was obstructing the wheel and I was able to travel on home. I took it into the body shop and was given a brand new car with 6k miles on it, all I can say is, my car drove out far better!!
I agree with the guy a page back, there are certain things to expect to repair on a car like a Audi, but I would rather put it into this than a ford that drives like it has the miles on it. my car just rolled to 115k and I am amazed at how like new the ride still is.
No regrets so far with this purchase, but it was all about doing the homework. I traced the vehicle back to the originating dealer that serviced it up until 6k miles before I bought it. It was a one owner car, and all the recommended service has been done.
I hope to drive this car beyond 200K!!

A: It depends on your taste in cars, I personally like Benz, I think it would handle better and be faster, neither would hold value but both are very cool cars.
Lexus GS 450 vs Infiniti M45 Driven both Two years ago I would have said the Infinity because I like speed. But with the New GS being MUCH faster than the M45 Along with being quieter and more Luxurious, and bigger I would have to go with the Lexus.
Audi S6 vs. Cadillac STS-V Haven’t driven the S6 I have driven an S4 Comparing that against the STS I would go with the STS simply because although it is AWD It lets the tail drift while cornering which makes it a blast to drive.
I would say just get the one that you want, you can get a good buy and be driving a car that you aren’t satisfied with. And if your going to buy a car that is going to cost you as much as a house get one that you are happy with
Q: Why are these new Audi rims so cheap?
I found these rims on ebay and they are so much cheaper then any other rims I’ve seen. Any idea why? Are they low quality? If they are low quality will it effect the performance of my car? Is there a reason why I shouldn’t buy them considering how cheap they are compared to other rims that are similar to these:

A: Seller says DOT and YUV approved, if that could be verified they would be safe and of sufficient quality for use. They may not exact match with the Audi ones for individual replacement but work good as a set.
They are indeed replicas, but not necessarily of poor quality.
Again inquire as to the veracity of the DOT and TUV approval from the seller

Q: Any ideas of an all-wheel drive sports car?
I’m a serious autophile, however I cannot think of any all-wheel drive sports cars right now. I can think of some sedans (Volvo S60 R, Audi S4, RS4, S6, RS6, Mazda SPEED6, Subaru Sti, Mitsubishi EVO) but no coupes, other than a Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX or an Eagle Talon TSi. I’m looking to buy a fast, sporty car with AWD, and the Volvo S60 R packs a lot into a very good price. Any other ideas?

What is the better car, the S6 or the S8? Is there a RS6 scheduled for production in 2007? Also is the German different/better/worse than the American version? If yes/no then why? A: Two different cars.
Its like asking what the difference is between a BMW 5 series and a BMW 7 Series. They’re both made by the same company, but they are very different!
Try taking each for a test drive and see what you think. The S8 is a very nice refined large luxury car. The S6 will feel a bit sportier mainly because it is smaller and lighter.
Good luck finding a dealer with both in stock and prepared to let you have a test drive.

if you could have ANY car/super car in the world which one would you choose counting that you own your own business and make a descent amount of money to buy any car, you live an average daily life BUT, theres a catch even though you can afford many cars you are allowed to have only one, to go to a party, shopping bank, drop you kinds off at school etc… and not your gf or any of ur friends have a car!!! so any suv, sedan, sports or super car

A: Well, there’s about a $20,000 price gap between the RL/S6 and a used Phaeton/Azera. The Phaeton didn’t sell well at all, so it maybe a bargin on the used market, though VW quality is always a concern with pricey repairs on a limited edition car esspecially. The Azera can be found used for a nice price and is a wonderful car to drive with good gas mileage, power and luxury in a beautiful package. Since you can afford an S6/RL I would suggest you get the new Hyundai Genesis V8, 375HP ultra luxury for under $42,000. http://www.hyundaiusa.com
Q: Mercedes = bad buying vehicle?
I’ve been told by several mechanics that buying a mercedes benz is a bad idea. Within 5-10 years Mercedes will have serious engine problems. A lot of them said fixing a mercedes is very expensive if anything happens and the service is very expensive as opposed to other vehicles. A lot of them don’t recommend me buying a Mercedes. Then what about leasing one, hence, i don’t have to deal with an expensive broken mercedes 5 years from now. I was thinking of getting the CL amg. The CL class has been my dream car since it came out in 1998. But i’ve been too busy so i never got one. This will be my 1st car ever. Have you heard about problems with owning a Mercedes a few years down the road?
I don’t find the BMW M6 attractive and i hate the interior design.

M3 i think only comes in MANUAL, and i don’t know how to drive stick.
SL550, it’s nice but i don’t like convertibles. If the SL wasn’t a convertible i’d probably get that.

A: When it comes to reliability, there’s basically Toyota/Lexus and everyone else. The JD Power surveys show CL-class owners are very happy when they buy new; the ratings are still average three years down the road. A recurring weak spot seems to be the mass airflow sensor. Replacement runs about $250, labor included.
The C63 AMG is a nice ride. In black it looks like Darth Vader’s commuter vehicle. Alternatives at this price point include the handsome Audi S5 V8-powered coupe and the Corvette engined Cadillac CTS-V

We used to have a Merc and from what i remember, it worked just fine. My Dad knows quite a bit about cars and he loves Mercecdes
They are a reputable brand.
Maybe those mechanics are trying to play you, car dealers are known for that.

I’m almost 18 now. I currently drive a 1995 audi a6 with an auto tranny. Although an incredibly well appointed car with great reliability, the car is fairly slow( 0-60 in about 10.5). i’ve been making some money and have about 12k (assuming i sold my own car for 6k). i’m looking for something sporty yet still refined. the 95 S6 is too rare i can’t find any local listings. I would like to hear your suggestions on what other car you would buy
