Q: Should I get a certified used 2007 Audi S4 or a new 2010 Audi A4?
My price range accommodates either choice. I would prefer the performance of the S4, but it is less fuel efficient.

A: The S4. The fuel efficiency on the S4 is phenomenal, especially for all the power. You really won’t find too much of a difference between them when it comes to fuel efficiency.
2007 S4s aren’t turbo anymore, so as long as you aren’t stomping on the accelerator all the time it will be fine. I drive the bi-turbo generation and it’s great on gas.

Repairs on the S4 aren’t too bad – especially if you are comparing it to the newer Audis. As long as you keep up with the regular maintenance (including things like the timing belt/water pump, spark plugs, etc.) the car should last you for a decade! lol

Q: When would someone have to install new turbos into an audi s4?
Would people usually do it just because or does an audi s4 engine have known problems

A: It all depends on the amount of stress that is put on the turbos. If the car is driven lightly and not beat on the turbos will last. If the car is driven hard, or has been heavily modded. Chipping the car will try and get a lot more out of the turbos and will cause them fail a little bit faster. Some people get lucky and they last over 100,000 miles, but that is rare unless the car is stock. Depending on your driving style, and the previous owners driving style it might be best to just wait for the stock turbos to fail, then replace them with some bigger(k04 rs4) turbos. These cars are known for their entensive maintence, especially at high mileage.

Q: In the game Need For Speed Pro Street, Audi S4 or the new Mitsubishi Evo, which ones is better to buy first.?
Cars, Need for speed, Game, Play Station 2

A: audi s4
cuz its faster then mitsubishi.

Q: i have a 2008 audi s4 (b7) andbought a new performance air-filter to replace the OEM filter.?
I have inspected the engine compartment and cannot locate the filter box, can anyone offer any assistence or help?

A: The large tunnel shaped plastic on the left hand side of the compartment is the air supply. It will come apart without any tools. It just pops together. If you disassemble it you will locate the filter box below it. It screws together and should take you a total of about a half hour. Watch out though there is a screen inside of the tunnel in between two of the pieces. Make sure that you do not lose that because it traps large pieces of debris from getting down into the new filter. You don’t want that to happen because the new filters holes are larger and you get crap inside of the engine. This make that 4.2 V-8 into a heavy paperweight.

Q: I was thinking of buying new car either a audi s4 or bmw m3…?
I was thinking of buying a new car within a year, the problem is that i dont know which one to get.. either the audi s4 sedan sport or the bmw m3 either a coupe or sedan… what u ladies/gentle man’s think?
I live in Los Angeles
Thinking of buying a 2010 car.

A: Both are great cars. If you go to snowy zones in winter, go for the S4. If you stick to sunny CA, why not considering a convertible M3 ?

Q: BMW 335 convertible or Audi S4 convertible (or new kitchen…)?
I’ve decided to buy myself a nice convertible and have narrowed it down to the two above (annoyingly, i can’t quite afford the new M3 or an RS4). which would you have, i’m verging towards the audi. However, the woman of the house wants a new kitchen so advice on convincing her otherwise is also appreciated.

A: the Audi is a great car – however you may have trouble fitting a double oven and a dishwasher lol

Q: Is it possible to put DRLs from the newer Audis on a 2004 Audi S4?
Is it possible to put those kinds of lights from a newer Audi to an older Audi?

A: if the body style is the same, then you might be able to.. if not, you can try to look for conversion kits

Q: How much should this Audi S4 cost?
Its a 2000 Audi S4 with the 2.7L biturbo engine, in Nogaro Blue paint with 144k miles. Always garaged, All scheduled maintenance (with records), Brand new rs4 wheels with new Toyo tires, Fully loaded (sans navigation system), No accidents, Non-smoker, Runs & drives great. Upgrades include two new k03 turbos, RS4 clutch, and flywheel, h&r springs, three new 02 sensors, apr stage 2 ecu software upgrade, with apr catback exaust, RS4 front bumper, bailey diverter valves, there is a $1200 police radar jammer/warning system that is built in to the front bumper. The rear brakes have recently been replaced, front swaybars, waterpump, rear pads/rotors, intake manifold gaskets, cooling temperature sensor, timing belt done last august, control arms, new power steering rack, new transmission slave cylinder, new symphony2 radio/cd/cassette player are all new, also connects to cd changer, and brand new Audi S4 Floor Mats.

to me it seems like most things that would go bad after 144k miles has been replaced. I mean, i could buy it and the camshaft could snap or something but hey, thats life haha. is there anything i should inquire about? I’m going to take it to a garage before i buy it to check out the cylinder pressures, but other than that i dont know what to check for. any help on what price it should be (its listed at 8,500) and what i should check before i purchase it?

A: That is an excelent deal looking at the things thw previous owner has done to it alll for 8500 thats a bargain. But the 144k miles do look a little shaky but all audis are extremly rilable

Q: What kalvin do I need for an HID kit on my Audi S4?
I have a 2005 Audi S4 conv. and one of the HID bulbs has burned out……. I dont want to buy a new kit from the dealership because it will cost me an arm and a leg….. what temperature kit do I need to match the other side?

A: As a fellow S4 owner I think I can add my two cents…the greater the kelvin rating, the bluer the light (up to purple)…usually the stock (average) kelvin rating for an HID is anywhere from 2000-5000k. Anything over 6k is unnecessary

You can go higher but Id expect that problems would arise..

Also, if you only need a bulb or two, find the Phillips Colormatch bulbs

Q: The new generation Audi A4 comes to the U.S. this fall I believe. So is there going to be a new RS4 and S4?
and if so…when will it come to the U.S.?

A: it is a possibility, but if it is going to happen, they will come about a year or a half year after the a4, i think

Q: Should I change my tire into high performance all season tires for my 2010 audi s4?
i bought a 2010 audi s4, and it came with summer tires. New jersey have snow every winter year. is it going to be faster if i use high performance all season tires than using summer tires? i really don’t know if summer tires are good for near freezing temperatures and more than 5 inches of snow. i need a helpp

A: Mine came with summer tires also. Just bought a set of Blizzak’s and some cheap rims for the winter. Never had a problem yet.

Q: How do you know your turbos are failing in a 2001 Audi S4?
Okay so I got an RS4 clutch, new chip, miltek exhaust, new diverter valves, ghb blow off valves, and cold air intake. Everytime I gun it and it gets into higher revs it makes this reaaally annoying screeching noise like a dentists drill or something. I also noticed it makes the noise at higher revs when the gas tank is full. Anyone have any idea whats up?
Its been running well (74k miles), sometimes i just feel like i’m not getting the power I had expected.
My pops has an RS6 actually, it does rule quite hard but I love my s4 and I just want to cure its ailments.

A: thats about where the B5’s turbos start to go out (that mileage), and it does sound like the turbo issue, but Vwvortex.com would be the place to ask. theyll know for sure.

and man youre lucky, the RS6’s are seriously bad machined. a friends uncle had a 650 hp one. such a monster/sleeper. His was the avant also :)

for willis C:
Turbos CAN be very reliable. The B5 S4s came stock with a twin turbo setup that just happened to have the actual turbocharger be pretty unreliable. None of his mods are all that odd at all.

And MANY MANY MANY manufacturers ARE going to turbos in everyday cars. all modern diesels , all of subarus, many audis and VWs, some porsches, some BMWs and mercedes, the SRT4 neon, and zillions of other cars are all turbocharged from the factory now.

and under your logic, why would we eat tasty foods? THey dont nourish us better than bland, inexpensive foods. Theyll just make you fat. Why not drive a 1985 volvo 240 DL? Why have any car with over 60 hp? why buy cool looking furniture when you can buy used, cheap stuff for less, and it does the same job?

and there arent rules against how quick youre allowed to get to the speed limit. And there are places called race tracks where you can drive well over any posted speed limit. And dont even try to tell me you have never broken the speed limit in your life.

Stop being an idiot.

Q: How much would it cost to repair a damaged Audi S4 (1999)?
It needs 2 new intercoolers, set of headlights, front bumper + some bodywork. Are the repairs something that an amateur – with a proper manual and/or guidance – could do?
Forgot to add: it’s a UK car.

A: My son is an Audi technician and he tells me constantly about how much more damage people do to Audi’s that try to repair them that don’t know what they are doing so I would say to take it to a professional Audi technician to save money in the long run. Remember these wise words!

Q: I’m looking at a 2000 Audi S4 and I want to know if its worth it?
The car has new timing belt, new gaskets, new turbo, new tires, and new brakes.
It has a new timing belt, new gaskets, new turbo, new brakes and new tires but it has a 166000 miles

A: Be very careful when looking into a high mileage audi. Sounds nice with all those new repairs BUT I would double check on that if i were you. I have a 2000 A6 biturbo and I probably spent about $10,000 in repairs for the past 3 years. S-lines are amazing but maybe you should look into a newer s-line.

Q: the new 2009 audi a4 looks bad ass.?
anyone here about the new s4 coming out? engine specs…

A: Yes, it looks pretty bad, but I’ve seen worse. If you want actual numbers though, try this link, don’t waste time on the other one.
