Q: What are the miles per gallon of a 2000 Audi S4 with the Stage 3 system?
I own a 2000 Audi S4. I plan on putting a Stage 3 system. I have no idea how much will my miles per gallon drop after I have this system put in. Stock it is supposed to give 20 city and 23 to 25 mpg highway. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

A: I happen to own a stock 2000 S4 as well, and yes, the car averages 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. Considering a stage III B5 S4 is capable of producing roughly 450HP and 470 ft/lbs torque, I would estimate that it would average around 15 mpg average, considering you have some fun with it.

Here’s a similar S4 with 450HP that gets 26 mpg!

Q: Any tips on replacing rear brake pads for 2001 audi s4?
I just did my front brake pads for my 2001 Audi S4. I haven’t looked at the rear pads yet — is there anything I need to know, or is it similar to the front ones?

A: You might need a special piston tool. Some cars have to have their rear calipur piston rotated as they are pressed back into the cylinder. Not rotating them can cause damage. Auto Zone sells a 12 piece disc brake calipur tool set that fits almost any brake system for about $30.

Q: How to get more horsepower in an Audi s4?
I have an 01 Audi s4. I already have an aPr chip upgrade from fixxtuning. 2.7 biturbo manual 6 speed. That’s the only mods I have at this point, I wanna get some more hp for little money. Also can u make some suggestions for body exterior mods. Color is silver. On 17s not lowered yet
Thx

A: I don’t understand how people purchase Audi S4’s and don’t know about the topmost forums for enthusiasts of that car.

There’s plenty you can do to the B5 S4 for more power, none of it cheap though. With that chip, your turbos if they are stock K03’s probably don’t have much longer to live. If and when it’s time to replace them you should go with K04’s. If you have 10 grand lying around you can do an entire Stage 3 upgrade.

Lower the car a little if you like but please, please please don’t cheese out and put a body kit on that car. It doesn’t need one. You bought an Audi, not a riced out Honda or Subie WRX.

Q: Should i get an audi s4 in Stick or Automatc?
I live in Los Angeles, and usually every day there is traffic. I want to buy an Audi S4 but im not sure if i should get Automatic or Stick. I want to have fun in the car, i want to enjoy it, and i know at night i will be able to do what i wanna do because there will be no traffic. But during the day its horable. What do i do? Alot of people say get stick youll have more fun, but is that really true? What if i need to pick up a cell phone, or im eating something, or im playing really loud music so i cant hear the engine? I need some good advice.

A: automatics are for old men, get a stick its lots more fun to drive, its faster, more economical, bigger gear range 5 or 6 gears compared to the 4 gears in autos and maintenance is also cheaper no Tran fluid changes and gearboxes hardly ever go wrong even tho about every 100k you need to change the clutch depending on how you drive, more control over the car e.g. you can use engine breaking.

in answer to eating while driving or using the phone you can normally do it fine just get a hands free and put the food in ur mouth before you change gear, youl know when to change gear coz ul feel the vibrations or if you cant do that theres a meter.

during the day its fine you just have to get used to it.

Good luck

Q: Where can I get a well priced, quality oil change in Illinois for my Audi S4?
My warranty recently ran out on my 2006 Audi S4 and I need to get an oil change. I do not want to go to the dealership because they obviously overcharge for every service. I would like to find a good place near downtown Chicago or near Schaumburg. I want a place that has a great price but also great quality and they are familiar with Audi’s and high end German cars. Thanks for your help!

A: It doesn’t matter where you go. They just look at the oil capacity sticker under the hood, and fill to that amount. Just make sure they put the correct grade in. If the sticker says 0w30 use that. I see people using 10w40 all the time in cars that request 0w30 and they complain when the oil pump craps out.

Q: What is the difference between B7 S4/A4 audi besides speed?
im thinking about buying an audi 2006-2008 but i was wondering if there is any difference between the audi a4 s-line and the audi s4. i know the s4 is a v8 4.2L and the a4 comes 2.0T or 3.2l but is tehre any difference physically like exterior or interior? please let me know.

A: Yeah the S4 has a SLIGHTLY more agressive look with the grill, wheels, lowering and silver mirrors . It also has a siffer suspension, bigger sways, bigger and S-model wheels, and uprated brakes. Basically a sportier ride. The s-line is a gap between the A4 and the S4. There is also a Titanium A4 model.

Q: What is faster a 2008 G37 or a 2004 audi S4?
What car is faster From a Dig and a roll Just curious because im debating on what car to get. The audi S4 is cheaper.

A: Hm well think of it this way, for an extra 500 dollars you can chip the s4 and get upwards of 50 HP and 50 ft/lb of torque. Stock vs stock I would say the infiniti has the edge, but if youre looking to modify at all the s4 has way more potential.

Q: Does the 2009 Audi S4 just come in convertible?
I want to but a 2009 audi s4 but i cant seem to find one that isn’t convertible on the audi website. Is it available just as a sedan?

A: yes in fact it is but i believe it is but it costs more. Also before you buy it you should decide betwen the regular six-speed manual gearbox, or a seven-speed “S-Tronic” dual-clutch transmission. the coast is a significant difference betwen the two and i wouldn’t trust a dealers advise

Q: Audi S4 or Mercedes E350cgi Coupe Which one would you choose and why ?
Hi there,

The two cars above specced work out at the same price, so which one would you go for.

Mercedes E350cgi does 0-60 in 6.3 secs rear wheel drive

Audi S4 does 0-60 in 5.2 secs and has quattro four wheel drive.

10 points for the answer with the best reason for their choice.

A: audi s4 would be a much funner car to drive. it has very good handling and is very quick.
the benz is gonna be more of a sexy luxury car, looks really good but wont be as fun to drive as the audi.
Personally i’d take the audi, much more enjoyable car plus quattro!

Q: Can anyone tell me if this Audi S4 is an automatic or manual by looking at the vin?
It’s a 2001 Audi S4 and the vin is: WAURD68D21A127685. If you can tell if it is an automatic or manual how can you tell?

A: It is a manual. I was able to put it into Audi’s repair manual data base and determine it there. Kinda cheating I know.

Q: When would someone have to install new turbos into an audi s4?
Would people usually do it just because or does an audi s4 engine have known problems

A: It all depends on the amount of stress that is put on the turbos. If the car is driven lightly and not beat on the turbos will last. If the car is driven hard, or has been heavily modded. Chipping the car will try and get a lot more out of the turbos and will cause them fail a little bit faster. Some people get lucky and they last over 100,000 miles, but that is rare unless the car is stock. Depending on your driving style, and the previous owners driving style it might be best to just wait for the stock turbos to fail, then replace them with some bigger(k04 rs4) turbos. These cars are known for their entensive maintence, especially at high mileage.

Q: audi s4 ??????????????????
what are the 0-400m and 0-100km/h times

A: 0-100 = 7.05
quarter mile = 14.93 @ 155.1km/h

Q: What kalvin do I need for an HID kit on my Audi S4?
I have a 2005 Audi S4 conv. and one of the HID bulbs has burned out……. I dont want to buy a new kit from the dealership because it will cost me an arm and a leg….. what temperature kit do I need to match the other side?

A: As a fellow S4 owner I think I can add my two cents…the greater the kelvin rating, the bluer the light (up to purple)…usually the stock (average) kelvin rating for an HID is anywhere from 2000-5000k. Anything over 6k is unnecessary

You can go higher but Id expect that problems would arise..

Also, if you only need a bulb or two, find the Phillips Colormatch bulbs

Q: Is there an alternative car to an Audi S4 that I should consider?
I’m considering buying a sub-£25000 Audi S4… I really want a Nissan Skyline GTR34, but my wife and my job make it impractical. Used to have a ‘97 Porsche 911, but now I need something more sensible and everyday, with similar power.

It has to be a 4 seat car for commuting in to town… Lots of power, but a car that has a sensible image for first impressions. Was considering a BMW 6 series, but at the end of the day, I will need to be let out of junctions in London…

Any suggestions?

A: For the price there is nothing like an S4. Depending on the year you can either get the twin turbo V-6 with about 236 BHPor the 350 BHP V-8. The all weel drive and the four door make this a little different. The M3 could be and option from BMW but you only get 2 doors. You could go with an Evo or an STI but those two arnt to economical. So, no, i dont think you have a different choice for the price.

Q: Are there any American cars that are similar to the Audi S4?
So originally I wanted an Audi S4, but I guess now I would like to go American. But the thing is, I don’t really know of a mid sized sport car like the S4. I am looking for something that holds 4-5 people and has decent torque and horsepower. I know of the pontiac G8, but Im not sure if thats the one. Help?

A: No, because no American car will ever match the quality, engineering, fun, durability, styling, and excellent of an Audi.. or anything German for that matter. You get what you pay for.
